About Me
Hi – I’m Doug Bowers.
Who am I to be writing a blog?
I’m just a man with a lovely wife named Orathai. A man who stayed by his wifes side for the last 9 years as she battled life threatening Lupus and a kidney transplant: As she went through the tortures of medication side effects both physical and mental: As she went through seven operations. I went to every doctors, lab and clinic appointment with her. Slept by her side for three months while she was in the hospital…they couldn’t kick me out. Then together we learned the wonders of nature. Food – supplementation – meditation and the power of Love. I became a student of Nutrition and healthy living and she became my student. Food as it was meant to be and exercise to keep the body strong. We needed help along the way. I turned to anyone that could and would provide help. Giving up was never even a thought that crossed my mind. I knew that together we could beat anything…and we did.
Orathai will be returning to University this year to complete a Professional Writing course and also volunteers with three groups that deals with disabilities. In her spare time – she takes care of me!
As for me, I just continue to grow older but I seem to be getting stronger…is that possible? I guess for awhile anyway. At 52 I feel better than I have through out most of my life.
I love nutrition – sports of all kinds and any kind of physical activity and I read whenever I can. I also love sharing what information I have and constantly strive to learn more. Anything I can do to help others is basically my top priority…call it a passion…I just say “it’s what I do”.
I’m not much at this computer business but I thought it a great way to reach more people. So I hope you’ll join me – I’ll try to keep things simple – like me, as I complete this journey with a smile and a helping hand.
Stay well – and always smile.
Doug

Dear Coach Doug,
You have been my “healthy living” Coach and sometimes, you even became my tormentor when I deemed to ask for some “illegal food.” In spite of facing a series of my health dilemmas (trust me! there are more to come, but in a positive direction; if not, we will deal with it), is this telling us and some that we are such a good team. All through difficult times I trust you, do you you know why? Because I can. Proof: I am still alive an kicking (more of writing at this moment).
Love you, Douggy!

Hello Weefy and Doug please send me updates.
Thank you for the “like” on my post. All the best.
HI. I have nominated you in some “Amazing Awards”. Please take a peek at http://www.positiveboomer.wordpress.com Renee
Thank you! Thank you!
You are most welcome – run on young lady, run on.
Nothing can be more fulfilling in life than to live a life with a passion. Sometimes it takes being between a rock and a hard place to rediscover your soul and life’s purpose. I’m so glad you and your wife found health and hope in natural healing and alternatives. Keep doing what you do in your own way and others will be inspired! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for your kind words. We were definitely between a rock and a hard place…or as my funny wife says, “between a Hard Rock and a Cafe.” If we manage to inspire even one person to help improve their health or the health of someone else we will consider ourselves successful.
We will indeed continue.
Thanks again
Stay well
Doug and Thai
Doug,
The healing powers of quality food, exercise, and love. What a trio.
Blessings
Doug,
More proof that miracles happen. And a testament to the healing powers of food, exercise, and love.
We are definitely believers in those healing powers – and the belief grows stronger every day. Thanks for the kind words.

Please remember you are not obligated to accept.
Coach, that is some serious produce. Looks like maybe just a little uranium in that soil. Love the blog.
Hey! That’s pure hard work and 100% organic. The strange part is, the farm is a community effort – work in = produce received; towards the end of the season everyone fades away and there is tons of food left for the rest!
Thanks for popping by. My blog is all over the map but maybe I’ll get organized one day…maybe not!
Take care

my pleasure…looking forward to learning from you.
Thank you for following my blog. I love that you have such a passion for health and an obvious love for your wife. You’ve got some impressive produce there too!
